The Driftwood River bridge at Monteith is more often photographed from the west side. This is one was taken from the dam east of the bridge as Train #213 rumbled northbound on August 8, 1989.When photographing this bridge bare in mind that there is a correctional facility on the west side of the road across from the bridge. As long as you are on the east side of the road and the cameras are pointed towards the railway you are OK, but point them towards the prison or parking on their property will likely give you the opportunity to meet the warden. The Monteith Correctional facility was originally built as a POW camp during WWII. (Bram Bailey)

Photograph from Ontario Northland in Color.
