The travelers on Amtrak train No. 78 welcomed the sight of Central Terminal. Although it is nearly three year since Amtrak took over passenger service, some trains are still let by PC and other power. The RDCs on the right are owned by the Canadian Pacific and are operated by the TH&B Railway between Toronto and Buffalo. Despite the busy look of the station its closing was being heavily weighed at this time, eventually closing to passenger trains on October 27,1979, more than 50 years after it opened, January 4, 1974.
